There are several ways to resolve slow Mac performance. For a quick check of memory problems start by opening Activity Monitor. Select the processes you’re experiencing and then press to quit . You can click Quit if it takes over a lot of memory. You can use the System Memory tab to check for any unresponsive processes that are operating within your Mac.
Another reason that could be behind your Mac’s slowness is the processor. It is recommended to close any application that uses excessive CPU. Open Activity Monitor, click on the “X” button that is located under the buttons. If you’re not certain which apps are taking up too much CPU power, try a Google search for the apps. It should allow you identify which programs are slowing down your computer’s performance.
Your Mac might also become slower when it is loaded with too many programs. Many applications use up the entire memory of your computer, which makes your system’s performance slow. Make sure to delete any files you’re not using or moving them to another drive. If you’re not sure what’s causing the problem, try opening the Activity Monitor and looking at the entire list of processes operating within your Mac. There are a few issues that should be apparent – they are an indication that the Mac is running too many programs all at the same time.
